Divine Ikubor, now more famously known as ‘Rema‘, was born in Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria. Rema officially signed with D’Prince’s Jonzing World, a subsidiary of Mavin Records in 2019. A Nigerian record label founded by the legendary record producer Don Jazzy – one of Africa’s greatest. The next generation afrobeats star rose to fame in same year with the debut release of his eponymous EP – Rema. It peaked at number 1 on Apple Music Nigeria. The project garnered attention across the globe, bringing in a massive following of fans. The singer-songwriter from Nigeria, instantly became a musical sensation, sparking trends, and cementing himself as the next big thing in the global music scene. And with that, an introduction to Rema through 5 best Rema songs.

Iron Man (2019)

Almost immediately after the astounding success of Rema and Freestyles Eps that skyrocketed the singer to mainstream heights and cultural ubiquity, Rema dropped Bad Commando, his third EP of the year. From the EP, ‘Lady,’ received positive reviews. It’s a catchy beat made it a song that fans could dance to over and over for generations.

Beamer (Bad Boys) (2020)

While he had already established his buzzing career in 2019 with three EPs, and dominating the year with the global hits “Iron Man” and “Dumebi”. His stealer year of introduction saw him won the Next Rated award at the 13th edition of The Headies, the Best New MVP award at 2020 Soundcity MVP Awards. And with that, Rema has continued to raise the bar. For his 2020 official single, the Nigerian singer-rapper linked with the Jamaican record producer, Rvssian, for the dancehall-heavy tune titled “Beamer (Bad Boys).” Fans found the song showed a new sound, filled with his magical flows, and the song became an instant hit.
